SONG 19 LUCKY SLIDE – 2:35 (Sung by Qualchan and Whist-alks as a duet) In a peaceful pastoral scene during an interlude in the war, Qualchan and Whist-alks resume their courtship at a place called Lucky Slide where there is a natural waterslide in the stream. Indian legend has it that if you make it to the bottom of the slide, whatever you wished for during the slide will come true. At the end of the ride on the slide, Qualchan asks Whist-alks to marry him and she says, “yes,” prompting him to sing “The legend is true.”
