Long Island Lolita Update - Writer Claude Solnik tells me that he had a successful preview of our musical Long Island Lolita last Thursday night in New York. The reading lasted 6 hours and every word was read and every song was sung. There was extensive rewriting. He has another reading scheduled for next Thursday. Stay tuned for more progress.
Tosca Opera review – Last night I along with 352 other members of the audience witnessed a first-rate performance of Tosca at North Idaho College. The only criticism I heard from a member of the audience was that it was done in Modern Dress and didn’t mention Napoleon. Friends, the story of conservatives vs. Liberals is timeless and is extremely relevant as witnessed by recent events, in my opinion. The performance will be repeated Sunday August 20th at 2 pm at North Idaho College in Coeur d’Alene. I highly recommend you see this great opera, great singing, great acting, great art and all right here in the Lake City.
Echo of The Tom Toms book release – I recently edited a book called Echo of the Tom Toms. It is now available at Echo of The Tom Toms . This book is the love story of Blue Bird and Fred Perkins. But more important it is an untold story of the Colville and Spokane Tribes often difficult and painful assimilation into American culture, which every American should learn and know.
Performance news – I am playing guitar and singing and entertaining at the Garden Plaza Farmer’s Market in Post Falls, just East of Walmart (in fact you should use their parking lot) Sunday August 20th from 11 am to 3 pm. Come on down and join the fun!
