May 1, 2016 Mother's Day, Kindle books and other news

May 1, 2016 Happy Mother's Day coming up. As music minister for the children, we are rehearsing for a special Mother's Day service music at the Unity Church on Coeur d'Alene on May 8th at 11 a.m. The kids' rehearsals are going great!

Jacob Johns- We have had two recording sessions where Jacob sings traditional and original music in the Hopi language. We hope to have a new music CD released in a month or two. If interested, send me an email with questions through my website contact page.

Two of my books are now available in Kindle format. The Chinese Curse is a memoir true to the best of my memory about growing up in North Idaho from 1941 to 1961. Phantasy is an R rated novel about a rock musician in the San Francisco Bay Area from 1968-to 1974. Some of the experiences include the protagonist playing in a soul band, demonstrating at Berkley and helping Civil Rights movements from Selma to Cesar Chavez.

Books - I went to a talk at the Post Falls Library by C.J. Box, a very successful author who has written a series of books based on a character named Joe Pickett who is a Wyoming Game Warden who solves murders and conspiracies. CJ gave a very informative and funny talk about the vicissitudes of becoming an author. His books have been translated into 27 different languages.  He signed my copy of his latest novel Off The Grid.

Hope Never Dies - La Esperanza Nunca Muere by Domingo Orozco. I have been working for a year editing and translating this story in English and Spanish about a successful immigrant and it is almost ready for publication. We  plan on releasing this memoir by the 25th anniversary of the Las Chavelas Restaurant at the Sunset Mall off of Highway 95 at the June 25th, 2016 anniversary party, where a mariachi band as well as me by myself will be singing and playing Spanish songs. I hope to see you there.
